Frequently Asked Questions

*What motivated you to become a coach?

I have worked in the mental health field for many years and have always had a passion for helping others. Not too long ago, I faced certain personal hardships that were incredibly challenging to overcome. I made drastic changes and my life got abundantly better. I used many of the skills, tips & tricks I share with my clients today- and I found a happiness unlike anything I have ever known. I dream of giving back by sharing my experience and education. When I was younger, I found myself with a victim mindset for the things I had been through and struggled with. I also felt consumed by negative emotions and thinking. I had no idea that these things could be changed permanently. I was tormented in my head, which triggered years of poor choices in an attempt to soothe my inner experience. I love the person I have become today and I see so clearly now how mistaken I was. The journey was long and painful, but proved to be the most rewarding journey I could have ever embarked on. I want to be a guiding light in that journey for others.

*What is the difference between coaching and therapy?

There are numerous types of therapy available today. Many of them involve "talk therapy," while coaching is more hands-on and results driven. Despite my therapy background, I love the relationship I am able to have with my clients during the coaching process. I can walk side-by-side my clients supporting them in the implementation of real-life changes in order to reach their goals. I do incorporate many therapeutic modalities within my "style," so some may say you get the best of both worlds.

*How does this work?

Traditionally, coaching sessions are done weekly in either a 30 or 60 minute format, although this can vary based on client need or preference. A consultation will be completed and need will be determined. A quote for services will be given at that point. I offer a free consultation to ensure appropriateness of care. Sessions are personalized based on each client and their specific journey. In addition to sessions, text support and between session communication can be available for those individuals who would like a higher level of support. "Assignments" and resources will also be available for any and every client, only if desired.

*What happens after a consultation?

If you decide to move forward with sessions, I will send you two google forms for completion. One is a background form that contains questions about your current situation, lifestyle, support system, history, etc. This form is very important, as it helps me to get to know you better. The second form is an agreement between client and coach that states our relationship is professional and requires a certain manner of conduct. This agreement also highlights that coaching is NOT therapy. I will then send you a link to schedule your first session, as well as collect payment.

*How does payment work?

Payments must be made prior to your session(s). I accept PayPal, Zelle or Venmo. Payments are non-refundable. Discounts are given when purchasing 1, 3 or 6 month commitments. Single session purchases will be billed at the full rate. The longer the commitment, the larger the discount. However, long-term commitments are required to be paid in full at the start of services. Why do I set it up like this? The longer the professional relationship, the better I know you- which means a higher level of quality care and intervention. My top priority is making a difference in the lives of my clients. Many of the struggles discussed in session, such as addiction, are deeply rooted and cannot be solved overnight. It takes time and hard-work.

*What is your scheduling policy like?

Sessions must be scheduled and on calendar a minimum of 24 hours in advance, unless prior arrangements have been made. Cancellations are allowed based on sickness or emergencies. Rescheduling will be based on availability, but not guaranteed. With that being said, I completely understand that life happens. Many of us have families and unforeseen circumstances that come up. I assure you, with scheduling needs, I will do my best to accommodate anything that comes up.

*There are a lot of "struggles" listed on your home page. Why are there so many?

We all come from different backgrounds and have had unique experiences. Everyone struggles with something. Despite those differences, many of the same techniques and skills can be applied to show prodigious results. Depending on the struggle identified, combined with individual client need & history, each experience will be different. You can trust that I will create a plan with your input that best suits your needs. It is not "cookie cutter" or "one size fits all." You can refer to the "Meet Your Coach" page for more information about my experience, credentials and the theories that have influenced my coaching method.
